Account Owners, Admins, and Team Leaders can import courses in bulk. You will find the import function via Admin View > Content > Select ‘Bulk imports’ in Quick Actions. 

Select ‘Import Courses’ and review the Import rules.   

Import Rules for CSV Files 

You may use the template or else you must ensure your CSV file complies with the Import rules. Your import file must include the Course Title field and the Active (TRUE/FALSE) field. 

1.  If you're updating Courses in bulk for Courses that already exist in Litmos, you must include each one’s Course Code; it is the same one automatically generated whenever a new Course is created.  
2. If you want to set a Course Due Date or a Course Access Expiration Date, set it by "time span" OR a specific date. Only one of these settings can be enabled at any time for any Course. If both fields are set during the import, an error will occur.

NOTE:  You can upload a maximum of 100 courses at a time.  

Using the CSV Template 

To proceed with the preparation of the Course Bulk Import, download the CSV template by selecting "use this template to get started." 

When the file opens, the column headers will indicate which information and course settings can be applied during the import process. See below for an exhaustive list:

NOTE: Reminder emails for Due Date, Expiration Date, and Compliance will need to be set separately within the Course settings. 

When Your CSV File Is Ready 

Once your CSV file is ready for import, choose the file for import and check the box, ‘The first row of my file contains column titles’ if the column titles were not edited during compilation. If the headers were edited during compilation, do not check this box. 

When the file is ready, the ‘Next’ button will become a ‘Map Fields’ button. Select ‘Map Fields’ to proceed.

On this page, the column headers will display. Select each dropdown associated with a column header to choose a correct field value for proper mapping of the column header to the appropriate information in the file.

Import after Mapping 

Once all the fields have been mapped properly, select the ‘Import’ button to queue the file for import into Litmos.
