What does the MailChimp integration do?

The integration with MailChimp allows Litmos administrators to assign Litmos Teams to a MailChimp List or, reversely, import new users into a Litmos Team from a MailChimp List. Once the integration is enabled, these two features will become available on a Team page of the Admin View under a new Litmos Panel Heading called “MailChimp”:

The integration provides top-level administrators an easy way to end customized emails and campaigns to Learners across different Teams by creating Team Learner Lists in MailChimp. The integration also makes it simple to transfer contacts from MailChimp marketing Lists into Litmos Teams to facilitate targeted training assignments that align with agendas across marketing, sales, and customer service. This integration will strengthen internal and external marketing communications, diversify training projects across departments and reveal valuable business correlations between training engagement and marketing communications.

Enable the MailChimp Integration

To set up the MailChimp integration with Litmos:

1. Get the API key from MailChimp. The API Key in MailChimp can be located by clicking on the Account profile drop-down in the top right corner of MailChimp and navigating to Account  > Extras > API Key. This MailChimp API Key is approximately 36 digits long with a hyphen before the last 4 digits.
It may be necessary to “Create a Key” if there is no API Key listed on this page. Once “Create a Key” is clicked, a new API Key will be generated by MailChimp and it will be a live API Key that can be used to connect to Litmos.
